I want to thank each one who joined me in praying on Saturday evening and Sunday concerning the hurrican Gustav which was approaching the Gulf Coast area near New Orleans, LA. I believe that God in His mercy turned the hurricane to do the least damage, and spare lives.
Though, many of the people of of southern Lousiana were wise in departing, they now do not have the damage they could have had in returning.
Thank you Father for your bountiful grace and mercy. May the hearts and lives of many be touched by this show of mercy. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
There are other approaching hurricanes. Let’s continue to pray for the hand of God to turn them or shut them off. All according to His divine will.

On Monday August 27 my Dad – Mike Blankenship – had surgery to amputate his right foot and part of the leg. They removed the foot and about half the way to the knee or so.
My Dad has a really good attitude about it all. This was a decision that was long in coming, but ultimately necessary. Had he not decided to go through with the surgery the poison of the blood which would have eventually taken his life. He is looking forward to getting back on his feet, and doing some work.
Please continue to keep him in your prayers along with the rest of the family.
